The Role
As part of their positive growth and continued expansion, we are excited to announce the creation of a new role within the finance team, Management Accountant. This role is pivotal in supporting the financial operations and ensuring robust financial governance as they continue to grow. Additionally, the role will be part of their wider succession planning within the finance team, aimed at fostering long-term stability and leadership development.

Key Responsibilities:
The Management Accountant will be based at either of their main clinics in the West of Edinburgh or Central Glasgow, with occasional travel to their other sites across Scotland. There is also potential for flexible working arrangements, including working from home for part of the week.

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts within the reporting timescale, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Review monthly management accounts to ensure any unusual balances are thoroughly explained.
  • Maintain the monthly trial balance and prepare and post journal entries.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of all major balance sheet accounts, including bank and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Work closely with the Finance Director and Transactional Services Manager to ensure continuous improvements are focused on systems and processes.
  • Regularly review of cost base and identify areas of efficiencies and cost savings through supplier review best practice
  • Undertake any ad hoc reports or analysis work as requested by the management team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Part Qualified/Qualified Accountant (0-2yrs PQE), QBE also will be considered with the right level of experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in general ledger maintenance and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different teams across financial and non-financial disciplines.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Xero accounting software and MS Excel is preferable.

Salary & Benefits:
£45,000 - £52,000 DOE, plus discretionary bonus and company healthcare scheme
